STARBARRIER PET

Starbarrier™ is a coated polyester film and is 98% pure polyester in its composition. Exceptionally strong. This is a high barrier, in house proprietary coating ClearBar™ coated film with exceptional oxygen barrier even in high moisture environments.

Starbarrier™ PET coated films utilise our ClearBar™ coating, an exclusive coating technology from Rockwell Solutions. ClearBar™ can be applied to virtually any web to create Starbarrier™ films or papers, examples include Polyester, OPP, OPA and PE. The application of ClearBar™ on any substrate achieves an oxygen transmission rate of 1-3 cc/[m²-day]. Starbarrier™ Film maintains a high barrier for gases and moisture and is
ideal for meat, poultry, cheese, snacks, fermenting products etc in the form of a suitable laminate or extrusion. Starbarrier™ Films are not suitable for retort (sterilising). Alternative film Starbarrier™-R can be used for this purpose.

Starbarrier™ Films can be supplied with a sealing layer to provide the film with the ability to seal to any substrate.

The side of the film coated with our ClearBar™ coating should be left outside during lamination. The noncoated side can be supplied with corona treatment for printing or lamination.

STARBARRIER™ film complies with all European and FDA regulations, including cooking. Whilst Rockwell takes all precautions to ensure that their lidding films are suitable for the application intended, the ultimate responsibility lies with the food packer to ensure that the film is suitable for their purpose.
